103. TAITOS
"103. taitos" on sarja skannauksia A4-paperiarkista, joka on taiteltu toistuvasti, kunnes sitä ei enää voinut taittaa. Jokainen taitos tekee paperista paksumman, jäykemmän ja lopulta rypistyneen. Kahdeksannella taitoksella paperi ei enää taivu siististi, vaan murenee ja ruttaantuu vastustaen jatkamista.
Teos leikittelee eksponentiaalisen kasvun idealla – teoriassa 103 taitosta tekisi paperista universumia suuremman, mutta todellisuuden rajat tulevat vastaan paljon aikaisemmin. Skannaukset osoittavat tämän rajan, näyttäen, miten yksinkertainen toistuva prosessi muuttuu järjestyksestä kaaokseksi ja lopulta mahdottomaksi,
103RD FOLD
"103rd Fold" is a series of scanned A4 paper, folded repeatedly until they could go no further. Each fold makes the paper thicker, stiffer, and more distorted. By the eighth fold, instead of neatly folding, the paper crumples under the pressure, unable to continue.
The project plays with the idea of exponential growth—while math suggests that 103 folds would make the paper larger than the universe, reality stops us much sooner. The scans capture this breakdown, showing how a simple process meets physical limits, turning order into chaos and runs into the impossible.
